Michigan State opens its 2017 football campaign Saturday against MAC opponent Bowling Green State. Kick off is scheduled for noon from Spartan Stadium in East Lansing. Both teams did not have the season they were looking for last season, and the Falcons will be looking to travel to MSU and play spoiler.

The Falcons are entering year two under head coach Mike Jinks, who came to BGSU from Kliff Kingsbury’s staff at Texas Tech. Levine Toilolo Jersey The Red Raiders are famous for their high flying , up tempo offense and the Falcons are no different under Jinks. The Jinks era last year began with the Falcons going 1 8 to start last season, but they finished strong winning their final three in a row.

BGSU won their last three games last season due to a good rushing attack. They had three players eclipse 100 carries last year, and two of them return. That attack will be headlined by senior running back Josh Cleveland, a guy BGSU expects big things from after averaging 6.4 yards per carry over 101 carries last year. Donovan Wilson will also factor into the running game for the Falcons.
Last year both James Morgan and James Knapke got reps at quarterback, but only Morgan returns and will be the starter this year. Morgan was up and down last season, throwing for 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He had a pedestrian 56.1 completion percentage. Expect the Falcons to try and establish the run early, much like they did at the latter part of the 2016 season.
This will be a game, defensively for Michigan State, that will test their defensive line and linebackers. MSU has experience at linebacker in Chris Frey and Andrew Dowell https://www.falconsatljersey.com/derrick-coleman-jersey-c-41.html, and expect them to be active in slowing the run game. Along the defensive line, Mike Panasiuk and Raequan Williams will need to play well to plug the holes in the running game for BGSU.

Defensively, the Falcons struggled last year against the pass. They allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete just fewer than 64 percent of their passes, and averaged 273.3 yards allowed through the air each game. They also allowed opponents to rush for 191.4 yards per game. The Falcon defense allowed an average of 38 points per game last season as well.

Expect the Spartans to try to establish the run early, like the classic Spartan teams do. The offense should be https://www.falconsatljersey.com/quincy-mauger-jersey-c-42.html giving LJ Scott a steady load of carries, especially early on, which should allow quarterback Brian Lewerke to settle in and attack the Falcons through the air.

Perhaps Bowling Green’s most acclaimed player is redshirt junior punter Joseph Davidson, who was named to the preseason Ray Guy Award watch list. He had a fantastic year last year, and is capable of flipping field position against the Spartans.

Expect this game to be high scoring, especially if the Falcons find a way to get the rushing attack going. However https://www.falconsatljersey.com/tyler-renew-jersey-c-40.html, it would be shocking if MSU were to lose, even though BGSU should be better than last year.
