In the past few weeks, I've heard a dozen HR practitioners debate on whether it's healthy for the company to have performance reviews and salary reviews at the same time. Some say it paralyzes the purpose of the performance review for the employee. Talking about an employee's salary can be very emotional. Some HR pros suggest conducting comp reviews once a year (as agreed upon hire) and performance reviews more frequently. What do you think?
