All study participants consisting of 748 men were given advice on healthy eating tips. However, only half are invited to undergo weekly training sessions at professional football clubs.
By the 12th week, the men who participated in the program lost weight. When 12 months passed, 40 percent of participants could maintain weight loss, at least 5 percent of the total body weight initially.
“Weight management and dieting are often mistakenly seen as women’s issues, which means that some men do not want to take part in existing weight management programs,” said study author Professor Kate Hunt.
